For how long may I try Kirix Strata?

Once installed, Strata may be used for 30 days.

What happens after 30 days?

After 30 days, the software expires and is no longer usable. In order to reactivate a license, a serial number may be purchased from the Kirix online store.

Are there any other limitations built into the free trial?

Nope. We want you to be able to use Strata however you'd like so you can get a feel for what you can do with it. We don't watermark anything nor limit data types or file sizes. The only limitation is that it expires in 30 days without a valid serial number.

From where can I download the software?

Kirix Strata, for Windows and Linux, is available at the download page. Click on the download now button for your operating system, and the software file will be downloaded to your computer.

How do I install the software?

To install the software, simply double-click on the downloaded file. An installation wizard will appear. Follow the instructions in the wizard and the software will be installed in a couple minutes. You can then open the software by clicking on the Kirix Strata icon on your desktop.  Click here for detailed installation instructions.

Does Strata run on other Linux distributions besides Ubuntu?

Because of the many flavors of linux, it is difficult to support each distro officially out of the box. However, that said, with a little elbow grease, Strata can be made to run on a variety of Linux distros. Please note, our Strata linux version is glibc-2.4 based, so if you are running earlier versions (like glibc-2.3.6 on Dapper Drake), Strata may not install properly.

Will Strata run on a 64-bit version of Ubuntu?

Strata is currently only available for 32-bit versions of Ubuntu.  However, that said, it is possible to make Strata run on the 64-bit version.  Please see this forum post for further information .

Are you planning on offering a Mac OS X Version of Strata?

Yes we are.  In fact, this is one of our most requested features. We currently have a prototype version working on Mac in our labs, but it isn't quite ready for prime time yet.  If you have any interest in beta testing a Mac version or would just like to be notified when we release the official version for Mac, please send us an email to support(at)kirix.com and we'll put you on our list.  Thanks!
